Hedda is an experienced analyst with a strong interest in the intersection between human wellbeing and ecological sustainability. With an academic background in political economy and environmental policy, she has shaped a diverse career across research, government, and private sector roles, all with a strong focus on sustainable resource use. 

In her master’s thesis, Hedda explored the topic of overproduction in the retail sector, focusing on the destruction of surplus textiles, electronics, and food, and proposed a policy framework to curb this unsustainable practice.  

Hedda is passionate about economic systems change and the redesign of societal provisioning systems to achieve good lives for all within planetary limits. At Hot or Cool, she leads the Sufficiency Approaches to Fashion and the Environment (SAFE) project, a 2-year initiative uniting policymakers, researchers, and businesses to drive transformative change in the fashion industry towards a Fair Consumption Space.
