About the Project

The SL4N project is implemented jointly by the Hot or Cool Institute and the UNEP, Consumption and Production Unit, Markets and Resources Branch, Economy and Industry Division, with the support of over 25 biodiversity and lifestyle experts from across different world regions, key stakeholders and UNEP internal and external related (policy) experts, who have contributed their knowledge and skills through a series of workshops conducted in 2024.

The SL4N project contributes to implementing UNEA-6 resolution promoting Sustainable Lifestyles and to UNEP’s strategic objective on Living in Harmony with Nature and its Medium-Term Strategy 2025 outcomes. The main outcome of the project is the upcoming publication “Nature-Positive Lifestyles: Unlocking Opportunities for People and Planet”.

Intended for policymakers, experts, and stakeholders working across biodiversity, sustainability, and behaviour change, this publication

a) explores the connections between lifestyle domains, drivers of nature loss, and environmental impacts;

b) identifies high-impact areas for policy intervention; and

c) outlines evidence-based strategies for creating innovative action pathways.
