Dr. Vanessa Timmer

Dr. Vanessa Timmer is Executive Director of OneEarth Living, a nonprofit ‘think and do tank’ advancing sustainable everyday living around the world. The OneEarth Living team works in partnership with C40 Cities, IKEA, UN Environment, the Hot or Cool Institute and other leaders, including in supporting sustainable living during Big Life Changes (e.g., becoming a parent, starting school, moving, retiring). Vanessa advises the UN’s 10YFP Sustainable Lifestyles and Education Programme, is a member of The Earthshot Prize Expert Advisory Panel and received the YWCA Women of Distinction Award in Environmental Sustainability. She holds a Doctorate and is a Senior Research Fellow at Utrecht University, having studied at Queen’s University, Oxford, UBC, and Harvard. Vanessa presents internationally, including at the World Circular Economy Forum, and co-hosted the award-winning sustainability television show The Sustainable Region for ten years. She guides strategies for social change, sustainability, and systems thinking, promoting equity and well-being within Earth’s ecological means.
