28 April Green care housing. The discussion is coming in the run up to the UN Habitat World Urban Forum in Baku (May). The aim of the session is to build a shared conceptual framework for housing as care infrastructure, to identify concrete examples at policy and community level, and to enrich a background paper prepared by the Forum secretariat ahead of the UN World Urban Forum in Baku.

Previous sessions
March 2026: This session focused on ensuring that the Forum focuses on the care-environment nexus, cutting across economic and social systems. The nexus speaks to the fundamental interconnectedness between humans and more-than-humans,  covering narratives, empirical relationships, movements and power, policy, and practice.
February 2026: We had three rich and quite different contributions, together looking at organising and field building in the care/eco-system from different angles. These consisted in community-based practices, collective impact network and sound as an organising tool.
January 2026: In this session the Forum focused on reclaiming the economy, discussing the limits of GDP and the economic policy solutions needed to support green and caring economies.
November 2025:  We reflected on COP30 in Belém, highlighting the growing recognition of care in climate debates, including its inclusion in just transition frameworks and national climate plans. We also discussed key challenges around finance and adaptation, and the urgent need for stronger narratives, alliances, and visibility for care-centred climate action.
