Aimée Aguilar Jaber

“It turns out that if you don’t hurry to change the world, then it’s the world that changes you!”  (Mafalda, Quino).

As a Programmes Director Aimée works to enlarge synergies between projects and programmes and to enhance strategic partnerships.  Aimée also leads the Urban Systems programme, which supports cities in transitioning towards systems that provide prosperity within planetary boundaries.

Aimée has worked in international organisations (OECD, ITF, WRI), supporting policy-makers with a focus on well-being, the environment, urban and territorial planning and transport. Her work has built on systems thinking as a means for developing policy that is better suited to deal with complexity, is focused on tackling root-causes (not symptoms) and moves away from looking at parts to transforming systems. Aimée has also been a Commissioner to the Lancet Pathfinder Commission, focused on health and climate.

As part of  the Hot or Cool Institute Aimée seeks to expand cross-cutting and systemic approaches to support policy that lives up to the challenge of ambitious social and environmental goals. She aims at enhancing synergies between policy-making and public engagement and participatory processes. Aimée is also eager to work with and learn from the talented and passionate people in the Hot or Cool team.
